Two Karates in One Day
Oct. 8th, 2013 04:13 pmYesterday S, C, and I took our second class at the new Karate place. It was even more of a workout than the intro class. There were three instructors. C and a brand new kid worked the bag with the owner who ran our intro class. The middle bag had the smaller yellow belts. S and I were grouped with two yellow belts on what had obviously become the bigger persons bag. The instructor on that bag worked us hard, each combination was done 7 to 10 times (rather than three each like the intro class), with him saying "go" almost before we had a chance to reset to fighting position. Plus we were told to do 5 jumping jacks and three crunches when we went to the end of the line. By the time we were halfway through working the second white belt combo (each combo was done on both sides), the only thing getting me back up after the crunches was remembering that the instructor could assign me pushups if I were on the floor.
H watched the class and said it looked fun, but she isn't ready to try an intro class yet.
After class I hurried the kids home, so C and I could get over to his old karate class. He manged two different karate classes, of two different disciplines in one day. He did pretty well in both, too.
