Gratitude Day 8.
Sep. 13th, 2014 11:43 amI know, I took a break. It felt like my livejournal was getting too busy and too crowded.
And one more thing.
I was always a "good student". Got good grades, followed the rules, finished my assignments. When something starts to feel too much like an assignment I am in danger of losing hold of the spirit of the thing, and reverting back to old patterns. It is amazing how meaningless something can become if I inadvertently make the shift to schooly attitudes of external rules and motivations.
So I took a break.
Things got busy around here, and I expect I will forget all the little details in time, since I didn't bother to write them down.
I also realize I should go back and add detail to my gratitude lists if I want to remember more than the vaguest of reasons for why anything ended up on them.
So my list for today will be one thing.
1) I am grateful for my birds. My birds make me get up and move. My birds make me go into the sunshine and do something every day, even on days when I'd rather just curl up in bed with my laptop and a very large cup of coffee. On days where I can't seem to shake my funk and everything seems hard, I still have to walk outside, even if for only a little bit.
