We had a very pleasant Thanksgiving with M's folks. We're putting them up at a hotel this year, so we can continue with our nocturnal routines without having to worry about guests. Yay.

As mentioned in my previous post, M made Thanksgiving dinner, with some small exceptions: I made the salad and cooked the spätzle and H prepared the squash all by herself (she was very proud of herself for being able to contribute to the meal). M coordinated all of it and cooked everything else.

We had Turkey, Ham, salad, squash, yams, drop biscuits, mashed potatoes, gravy, and spätzle. (I nearly forgot, we also had three pies, but we bought those: French Silk, Triple Berry, and Pumpkin.)

Here is a picture of our empty table before the food was added.

The following are pictures of some of the food we got to enjoy.

It's spelled "spaetzle".

Actually it's spelled "spätzle", but not everyone has an umlaut handy.
"la" is not a german ending, the "e" on the end indicates the plural form, and the "le" can be taken as a diminutive.

Okay, I cut out all my spetzlas and pasted your spätzle in their places (thanks for providing me with an umlaut).

BTW, I had googled spetzla before I wrote my original post, and it didn't offer me a Did you mean: spaetzle, so I thought I got it right.
