The Vet office has at least 6 Vets attached to it and has regular office hours 7 days a week.
In the morning Newkie looked a little improved, but I wasn't sure if what I saw was just wishful thinking. I called to get imput from the Vet's Office and was scheduled for another recheck. I think normally they might have just given me feedback over the phone, but they were dealing with an emergency and the Vet could not be consulted.
I had M come with me this time, so he wasn't out of the loop. They whisked Newkie into the back again, but this time she was done very quickly and we received good news. The cut had started draining on it's own. The Vet came out herself, told us she was the one who saw Newkie on Friday, and she was really glad we brought her back in. The Vet got some blood looking liquid squeezed out and said Newkie was looking much improved.
M got her card because we both liked this Vet, we were told to bring Newkie back in a week if the swelling didn't go down, and I was told applying a warm compress 2 to 3 times a day would help.
Again no charge, I was starting to feel like I was getting my money's worth from what I paid for that first exam.
