So it's looking like S has gotten her first grown-up job. She's been background checked, had to pee in a cup, and has orientation on Tuesday. It's not quite welding, since they wanted their welders to have a few years experience. It is, however, in an air-conditioned shop, second shift, 4 tens, 20 minutes from here, and more than she's being paid at DQ.

Word of advice to aspiring young mechanical technicians: when attending a job fair, choose something other than a halter top and cutoff shorts to wear.
