...the insight into why our less affectionate cat was suddenly being very loving - the dog got into the laundry room and ate all the cat food again. Apparently hunger makes for a very purry Frankie cat.

...my newfound appreciation for just how differently my three year old's mind works - C was crying, so he told me I screamed at him (I definitely did not in this case). He knows I screamed at him because he was crying. Circular reasoning at it's finest.

...how much fun S can have using extra plastic grocery bags to skate and dance on our kitchen tiles.

... H's ability to turn paper plates (with lots of tape) into mini umbrellas - she even made one for her brother and sister.

I love your Grateful posts...They always make me think or at least one thing that happened when my girls where younger & make me smile for two reasons, your joy & my remembered joy. Thank you.

I second what puglady says, and remain in awe of how you make the mothering of three energetic, bright and children much easier than I know it has to be with my limited perspective, having only raised one. The gift that you are giving them right now is one they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

I sometimes draw inspiration from something you told me when H was five and C a very new baby. Something along the lines of: In 18 years this will all be over and you'll look back and laugh. It really drove home how fleeting the time is when my kids will still be kids.
