What is marriage?

Some friends of ours are getting married in the near future. We were discussing the wedding with the children, because we are likely to attend.

C could not grasp the meaning of marriage, I couldn't explain in well enough for his three year old brain, I guess.

He decided that we were all married to each other: Mommy, Daddy, H, S and him. Also the dog and the two cats.

The chickens did not make the list, I guess he isn't as attached to them.
