Photo Phones

So today we were at the park with my kids' best friends. S wanted her picture taken on the slide, and I did not have my camera with me.

My friend came to the rescue with her new phone. You know those new phones that do practically everything besides work as a phone? I have no idea if it was one of those (but it sure looked like it could do lots of stuff), because I am clueless about cell phones. My husband and I are probably the last two adults in the United States who do not have a working cell phone. Well, if I ever break down and get a phone someday, I might just have to go whole hog and get a super cool, does lots of things, kind of one (then only master maybe four or five of it's features ;-).

My friend took pictures of S, then e-mailed them to me on the spot. When I got home there they were, waiting for me to download them and get them up on my livejournal. I know, I'm a technological dinosaur - mind you a technological dinosaur who livejournals (buy I've always liked being contradictory ;-).

Oh, and her phone does actually work as a phone too; she had to field several calls while we were at the park.

In all fairness, all I have learned to do is talk on the phone (my 11 year old niece showed me how to answer it), take pictures (thank you niece) and check e-mail (ditto). It has a lot of other features too I am sure. But the communicating and the random picture taking are about all I really need. S--
