Word Rant

I've been reading a lot of for sale adds lately. Mostly for horses (or other random farm related items) on craigslist and houses on MLS. I really, really wish if people are going to place sales adds for something they have to sell, they could freaking learn the difference between the words sell and sale. I can't tell you the number of people who want to sale you a horse or a chicken or a lawn mower.

I suppose given the number of misspellings, run on sentences, lack of punctuation, etc. on craigslist, that the sale/sell issue is really a very small one. So lets leave behind craigslist, shall we, an move on to real estate. If you are a realtor, and make your livelihood from selling houses, wouldn't it behoove you to proofread your advertisements before sending them out onto the online-MLS for everyone to see?

"1.25 acre lot priced to sale fast." I read that about a house this morning. Come on, if you are a professional, in the business of posting houses for sale, you might want to learn when you want them to sell fast (or hire someone who does know the difference and pay her to proofread for you).

**sigh**

This rant brought to you by the sleep debt state brought on by nursing a sick child all night long (BTW he's feeling much better now :)
